LUCKNOW – Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath has directed the police and administration authorities to ensure that the sacrifice of the animals will not take place in the open during the Muslim’s festival Eidul Azha.

According to Indian media, CM Yogi ordered the state police to remain vigilant and asked the police to keep a check on cow slaughter during Eid festival.

He further directed the concerned authorities to make sure that the blood and the offal were not disposed of by the people into drains.

The BJP leader added that the following measures were being taken by the government to ensure that the religious sentiments of other communities were not affected as Hindu’s religious Kanwad yatra is ongoing.

Additionally, Yogi ordered the authorities to make sure that protected animals were not sacrificed as a result of the festival.

Aditynath ordered all the senior officials to conduct patrolling in sensitive areas and visit the respective districts to ensure that the festival is celebrated without any ruckus.

India will celebrate Eidul Azha on Wednesday. The religious eve aimed at reviving the spirit of sacrifice amongst the believers. The day is marked in remembrance and honour of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) who sacrificed his son Hazrat Ismail (A.S), however, just as Ibrahim was about to sacrifice him, Allah replaced him with a ram.
