LAHORE – The nomination papers submitted for the upcoming general elections 2018 reveal that president of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and former Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz own assets worth millions.
As per the details submitted in nomination papers, the former CM owns 172 kanals land, a Land Cruiser and a bank balance worth more than Rs 11.4 million; he is the shareholder of five mills including Hamza Spinning Mills and Hudaibiya Paper Mills.
He is also due to return Rs 38,94,518 to the bank which he got as a loan.
The affidavit shows that the younger Sharif is husband of two wives named Tehmina Durrani and Nusrat.

Additionally, the details exposed that Hamza Shahbaz, one of the PML-N leaders and son of Shahbaz Sharif, owns a 155-kanal land, bank balance of Rs4.3 million and cash price bonds worth Rs1.6 million.
He is a shareholder of 21 mills however, he has not any personal vehicle under his name – in much the same manner as PTI chief Imran Khan.
Hamza also followed the footstep of his father in relationships as he has two wives: Rabia and Mehrunisa though he did not mention anything about his alleged wife Ayesha Ahad, with whom he reached a settlement brokered by the top judge.
Assets worth Rs 178.4 million were declared by former Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique.
His current residence in Lahore’s Defence Phase 2 is worth Rs 48.2 million.
Moreover, Rafique owns 32 Kanal agricultural land in Moza Phalrawan estimated at Rs 70 million.
The nomination papers revealed that the former minister is also the owner of Sadian Associates Marketing and consultancy firm which is worth Rs 29.8 million.
Rafique owns furniture worth Rs 2.5 million and has Rs 15 million in his bank account. He has also borrowed Rs 29.5 million from a cousin.
Rafique has also listed two wives, Ghazala Saad and Dr Shafaq Hira along with two daughters and a son as dependents in his documents.
