LAHORE – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf PTI was allowed permission for its much-anticipated Lahore rally, but the authorities imposed several restrictions including blocking of key highways and Motorways.
Several sections Motorway M2 and M1 have been closed ahead of PTI rally in Lahore, causing significant traffic disruptions across major routes.
The motorway police announced the closures to manage security and traffic flow ahead of the public gathering of Imran Khan’s party. A spokesperson confirmed that all traffic from Chakri on the M2 has been completely halted, while vehicles from Neela Dullah are being diverted to alternative routes to avoid congestion near the rally site.
M1 motorway is also experiencing closures at several points, and PTI leaders lamented measures in Punjab, Islamabad, and KP.
Commuters traveling to Lahore from northern regions have reported considerable delays due to the blocked sections and necessary detours. Long queues of vehicles have been observed near Chakri and Neela Dullah as motorists navigate around the closures.
As the PTI rally approaches, the party maintains its firm position regarding a public apology from Ali Amin Gandapur. Authorities are advising travelers to plan their routes accordingly to minimize disruptions.
