Biometric verification made compulsory for private Hajj pilgrims

ISLAMABAD – The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has made biometric verification mandatory for pilgrims aspiring to perform Hajj though private scheme.

The Ministry would inform pilgrims through the phone call or SMS to ensure biometric verification before submitting their passports for the issuance of visa.

The devotees can register themselves biometrically through ‘Aitmaad’ center which is approved by the Saudi government.

According to Hajj Policy 2018, 179,210 Pakistanis would perform Hajj this year, out of which 119,473 would perform Hajj under Government Hajj Scheme, while 59,737 Pakistanis would perform Hajj through private Hajj scheme.
