LAHORE – Twitter was shocked over the selection of Zulfi Bukhari as PM’s Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development with the status of Minister of State.
Many social media users were in a state of disappointment and were questioning the PM over how he selected a person who has his name in the Exit Control List (ECL) due to an ongoing case at National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Where some were questioning the selection of Zulfi as an advisor to PM, some expressed their happiness on him being designated the position. With British politician Sayeeda Warsi being delighted on the appointment of Sayed Zulfi Bukhari as Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Overseas Pakistanis, Sanam Saeed, a popular TV star also shared her happiness.

Apart from the tweets, a notification was also being issued by the Cabinet Division.
In terms of rule 4(6) of the Rules of Business, 1973 read with serial number 1A of Schedule-VA of the said Rules, the Prime Minister has been pleased to appoint, with effect from 14th September, 2018, Sayed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari as Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development, with the status of Minister of State, the notification stated.
Zulfi Bukhari was the filmmaker of Pakistani movie “Cake”, the movie is being selected by Pakistan’s film committee for Oscar’s awards. Isn’t it is a great news?
