PD playing pivotal role in strengthening country’s defence: PM
ISLAMABAD (APP)- Newly appointed Director General Strategic Plans Division (SPD) Lt. Gen. Mazhar Jamil called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad today.

Matters relating to Pakistan's nuclear, missile and space programmes came under discussion.

The Prime Minister appreciated the security and safety mechanism and said SPD has been playing an important role in strengthening Pakistan's defense capabilities.

Lt. Gen. Mazhar Jamil thanked the government for reposing confidence in his abilities for this important assignment and assured the Prime Minister that he will perform duties to the best of his abilities.

The Prime Minister expressed the confidence that under his command the Division will continue to work towards this end.

SPD is an important component of National Command Authority which is headed by the Prime Minister and exercises complete command and control over the country's nuclear and strategic capability structure.
