Govt to produce 21,000 MW by end of next year: Abid

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has said that the Government would be able to produce 21,000 Megawatt electricity by the end of next year.

Briefing National Assembly Standing Committee on Water and Power in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said new grid stations and transmission lines have been installed with the cooperation of National Transmission and Distribution Company to improve efficiency of the system.

The Minister of State said Sukkur Electric Power Company is incurring losses worth 1.15 billion rupees a month due to electricity theft.
He said disciplinary action has been initiated against employees involved in power theft.
