WASHINGTON – Authorities have detained a 20-year-old man on suspicion of involvement in Friday’s shooting incident which killed five people at a Washington state mall.
The suspect has been identified as Arcan Cetin –a resident of Oak Harbor community about 48 km southwest of Burlington city. He graduated from high school in 2015.
According to media reports, Arcan Cetin did not resist when the police officials arrested and escorted him to the vehicle.
Washington State Police said they were still investigating if the suspect had any terror links. However, the initial findings suggested the incident was a personal act of insanity.
On Friday evening, the suspect entered the Cascade Mall in Burlington, Washington state and started firing in the cosmetics section of a Macy’s department store, a video evidence collected by officials showed.
He is said to have used a rifle during the attack. The weapon was also recovered from the mall, later on.
