PESHAWAR – One more patient of Dengue fever died in Peshawar on Saturday, raising the death toll to eight, local media reported.
The deceased patient was under treatment at the Khyber Teaching Hospital in the provincial capital where the disease has turned into an epidemic. Sixty nine cases surfaced on Thursday.
After the dengue outbreak, the Punjab government extending assistance sent teams to Peshawar to treat the patients. So far, the medical teams have treated 2,062 patients and screened 595 individuals as of Tuesday.
Earlier, the KP Health Department had asked the provincial education department to get assistance for limiting the dengue virus.
