Selena Williams is now facing serious troubles for being a woman. French open banned an outfit which she wore due to medical reasons. She wore a black and red body suit to her match but was called out by the management. The president of the French Tennis federation singled out Williams bodysuit. She wore this suit to prevent blood clots after she had a pulmonary embolism.
This all started in September after her daughter was born. Let’s not forget this is not the first time a woman has worn a bodysuit to the court. In US open 1985 Anne White wore a white bodysuit and was never called out for that.
Fans are furious over this news as it is not only disturbing given her medical conditions but also discriminatory. These double standards have made the fans take over twitter taking Williams side. Not only the fans but also a long time sponsor of Williams took over twitter and wrote;
“You can take the superhero out of her costume but you can never take away her superpowers.”
