Now you can do more than just Like a Facebook post

NEW YORK (Web Desk) – Within weeks, Facebook users will be able to respond to any post with ‘sad’, ‘wow’, ‘angry’, ‘love’ or ‘haha’ emotions.

According to Thenextweb.com, Facebook’s chief product officer Chris Cox has confirmed that reactions are going global.

He has also explained how the company chose five more internationally-recognized emotions to sit alongside the famous like button.

According to the spokesperson a study deployed in testing, which spanned six countries, ‘yay’ did not make the final cut as “it was not universally understood”.

As well as consulting with sociologists, the team analysed the most common reactions across its network in order the refine the final selection.

To use one of the new reactions, you will have to hold your thumb on the ‘Like’ button to scroll through and select the one that sums up your mood.

Rather than adding one icon for each person that reacts, Facebook will tally up the bouncing emotions, in order to reduce clutter.
