LAHORE - Pakistan automobile industry has gone through massive changes in recent times as many global auto manufacturers were investing in the country besides local firms pumping millions into the industry to cater the burgeoning demand of vehicles in Pakistan.

If we look at the statistics, in the Year 2016, more than 0.23M vehicles were sold in Pakistan. The numbers continue to rise each year and a positive trend of 10 to 15 percent annual growth is clearly visible. More than 0.15M cars and jeeps have been sold in Pakistan since mid-2016. If you account for buses, trucks and tractors in the equation, the number crosses 0.2M.

There are currently 3 auto giants Toyota, Suzuki and Honda providing vehicles for thriving Pakistani market.

Let's have a look at top five most selling cars of Pakistan in 2017

Toyota Corolla

Toyota Corolla was launched in Japan circa 1967 and in 1993 Toyota Indus Motors launched Corolla for Pakistani Consumers.

Till now, it's the most popular sedan of all time. 21,518 units were sold during the past 5 months (July 2017 - November 2017)

The current Corolla is available in several variants like Xli, GLi, Altis and Altis Grande.

Suzuki Mehran

In 1984, Suzuki Japan introduced second generation Alto (Mehran). Pak Suzuki Mehran is based on a three-decade old design and still comes with nearly the same look and features as the original one, which was introduced in 1989.

18,829 units were sold during the past 5 months (July 2017 - November 2017)

Currently, Mehran is available in two variants VX and VXR.

Suzuki Wagon R

The  Suzuki Wagon R is a kei car produced by the Japanese manufacturer  Suzuki since 1993. Pak-Suzuki launched the new Wagon R in 2014. It comes in three variants VX, VXR and VXL.

11,383 units were sold during the past 5 months (July 2017 - November 2017)

Honda Civic

The first Honda Civic was introduced in Japan circa 1972, In Pakistan, Civic was introduced in 1994 by Honda Atlas Cars, The tenth-generation of Honda Civic is considered as the most highly featured in it's league.

There are currently two variants 1.8 and 1.5 Turbo-Charged of Honda Civic available in Pakistan.

Honda City

Honda city was launched in Japan circa 1981, Honda Atlas Pakistan launched this car in 2000 for Pakistani market.  Honda City is currently available in 3 variants 1.3, 1.5 and Aspire 1.5.

Today's gold rates in Pakistan – May 30 2023

KARACHI - The price of a single tola of 24-karat gold in Pakistan is Rs 232,700 on Tuesday.The price of 10 grams of 24k gold was recorded at Rs199,510.   

Likewise, 10 grams of 22k gold were being traded for Rs163,624 while a single tola of 22-karat gold was being sold at Rs 190,880.
