This year Bollywood divas Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra made their Hollywood debuts with a bang. Priyanka starred in Baywatch alongside Hollywood giants Vin Diesel and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
Based on the extremely popular 90’s series, Baywatch turned out to be a big disappointment, even though it starred the hero-villain pairing of Dwayne and Priyanka who engaged in thrilling action scenes.
While box office numbers announced a single winner, the jury too wasn’t quite impressed with the performances.
So when the nominations for the 38th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards were announced they brought along some pretty bad news for Priyanka and Co. as Baywatch landed a nomination under the “worst film of the year” category, as per a report by The Hollywood Reporter.
Deepika had more luck with her 2017 debut in the Vin Diesel starrer, xXx when it made a whopping $90 million worldwide in its opening weekend and went on to bag a total of $346.1 million.
On the other hand, Baywatch took a serious beating against the success of xXx as the box office collections stand at $177.9 million worldwide, and only managed half of the business made by Vin and Deepika’s movie.
However thing dont look too bad for Priyanka’s fanfare in the international market. After huge success with Quantico and her Hollywood debut the actress-turned-singer has started working on promotions for her second film in the west, A Kid Like Jake.
