Local holiday announced in Karachi on June 29

KARACHI – A local holiday will be observed in Karachi on June 29 (tomorrow) on the account of the annual Urs of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi.

“All offices under the jurisdiction of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation will remain closed on the above occasion, except essential services offices,” the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) said in a notification on Friday.  

On Thursday, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori inaugurated the 1,294th annual urs celebrations at the shrine of the sufi saint.

He also laid a wreath on the saint’s grave and offered prayers for the development of the country.

He also expressed hoped that Allah Almighty would not reject his prayers for economic stability in Pakistan.
