SRINAGAR – At least two Kashmiri three were killed and 18 others injured in anti-India protests that erupted after a gunfight between rebels and government forces in disputed Kashmir, reported local media.
According to Kashmiri media, the two boys, identified as Zahid Rashid, Saqib Ahmad and another, received bullets during the protest and died on way to the hospital.
Inspector-General Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gillani said the gunfight started Tuesday after police and soldiers raided an area of Chadoora to arrest a militant hiding in a house.
As the firing began, hundreds of residents came out of their house and chanted anti-India slogans and pelted stones on the police.
The Indian troops opened fired at the protestors that killed at leat two civilians and injured 18 incluing 8 police officials.
