KARACHI (Online) – The legal fraternity including the Sindh Bar Council and the Karachi Bar Council observed complete strike on Saturday, boycotting courts to protest the murder of Amir Haider advocate, former joint secretary of Karachi Bar.
A complete strike was observed in the city courts as well. All the avenues leading to city courts were blocked and roads were closed for vehicular traffic.
No case could be taken up in the courts.
A funeral prayer in absentia for Haider was held in the city courts and a larger number of lawyers attended it.
A protest demonstration was also staged on the occasion.
Addressing the lawyers, President Karachi Bar Naeem Qureshi called for immediate arrest of the killers.
