PTI s top rated Tabdeeli Aayi Re jingle apparently plagiarized from Rajasthani bhajjan

KARACHI – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s most sought after jingle ‘Rok Sako To Rok Lo’, performed by Shahzaman, Jawad Kahlown and incumbent Governor Sindh Imran Ismail has been found to be a copy of  Indian Rajasthani bhajjan, or religious song.

The song became a popular hit among the party supporters to troll their arch-rival, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, however, in a report filed by Arab News, it has been claimed that the party’s favourite song is vividly similar to a remixed version of the Indian Rajasthani bhajjan, “Bankya Maa Re Nache,” performed by Yuvraj Mewari, with music by the Mewari Brothers.

Mewari’s song was released on April 6, 2017, while the PTI song came out around 4 months after it.

The co-singer Jawad Kahloon has admitted similarities between the songs, saying they had heard the song.

Indeed, there is a resemblance but this specific kind of music resembles many songs but it goes without saying that our composition is way catchier, stronger and popular, he said.

The song is written and composed by Jawad Kahlon, however, the line ‘Rok Sako To Rok Lo’ was written by Imran Ismail; it was first coined by Maryam Nawaz, after she appeared before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in the Panama Papers case, last year.

PTI has yet to respond to the allegation.
