Lahore s biggest Food Festival finally scheduled on the 31st of March in a 3-day run, at Fortress Stadium

Lahore – The city’s most anticipated, sumptuous and mouthwatering food festival is just on its way! After a delay of about eight long and dragging weeks, finally, Lahoris will be able to savour their taste-buds in one of the most awaited and exciting culinary events in Pakistan.

This gala gourmet gathering will kick-start on Friday, the 31st of March till Sunday, the 2nd of April, with event timings from 4:30 pm to 1:00 am. Each day will feature a variety of events and activities with a large number of food stalls as well as live music performances by Goonga Sain (playing with dholni) on Day 1 and Ali Sethi On Day 2.

Addressing what is popularly called ‘their favorite pastime,’ Nusrat Jamil of Latitude PR promoting the festival recalled that “the festival originally meant to be held in the second week of February has delayed because of security reasons.”

Organized by Capra Khan Omari Events (CKO), a company which launched its first food festival in Karachi, ‘Karachi Eat,’ director Aslam Khan pointed out that Lahore Eat would be held this time at the Fortress Stadium with visitors’ entry from Gate 1 and exit from Gate 3. Vendors’ entry would be facilitated from Gate 2.

“After Pakistan Super League (PSL) final, this (festival) will be the biggest event in Lahore,” he added further.

“When the (Charing Cross) blast took place, and the security worsened, the government revoked the NOC it had issued us. We only got permission for the Fortress Stadium on Monday,” Khan said.

The Lahore Literature Festival (LLF) and the Lahore Music Meet were both also affected by the rising security situations in Lahore, with the LLF being cut short and the LMM having intense security checks outside the premises.

“We asked about why the LMM was allowed to be held at Alhamra, the reason was that the event was all restricted to indoors,” said Nusrat Jamil.

“Our event – the food festival – is an outdoor event, and so it is understandable that the security must be tighter,” he concluded.

Foodies of Lahore will be able to sample from a wide range of gourmet dishes whipped up by local and international chefs, and more than 50 exhibitors including The Café Upstairs, BBGB, Beef Eater, Masoom’s Pancake Lounge, Nama Burger, Sweet Affairs, Delish, Cosa Nostra, The Daily Deli, Jumbo Gyro, Luxus Grand, Bombay Chowpatty, Lahore Social, Punjabians Dhaba, BYOB, Loco Taco, The Shack, Maro Tandoors, La Atrium, Ministry Of Burger, Café latch, Mouthful, BBQ Joint, Big Bite Burgers, Awesamosas, Lahore Chatkhara, Food panda, Ginsoy Extreme Chinese, The Local Eatery, Desi Khabay and many many more.
