Virat Kohli gets his own wax statue at Madame Tussauds, New Delhi

NEW DELHI – Indian Cricket Team skipper Virat Kohli is getting his own wax figure at New Delhi’s Tussauds. With this, he will be joining the ranks of other sports players including Sachin Tendulkar, David Beckham, Kapil Dev and Lionel Messi.

Virat Kohli spoke about this in an official statement, “It’s a great honour to be chosen as one of the figures at Madame Tussauds. All thanks to the Madame Tussauds team who were extremely patient during the sitting sessions and for giving me a lifetime memory.”

Expert artists have flown from London to take 200 specific measurements and images to create an authentic figure of the cricketer.

Anshul Jain, General Manager and Director, Merlin Entertainments India Pvt. Ltd., informed the media, “We are thrilled to announce the Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli’s figure as the 23rd attraction. He holds the heart and respect of every Indian and a perfect choice to have him as our next figure.”

Virat’s journey to represent India has been phenomenal. Making is debut in 2006, Virat lead lead the Indian cricket team as their Captain during the Under-19 World Cup win. He has also been awarded Arjuna award, ICC World Cricketer of the year and three BCCI international cricketer of the year awards along with Padma Shri by the Government of India.
