PARIS (Staff Report) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is scheduled to arrive in Paris on Sunday (today) to attend historic 21st UN Climate Change Conference that will formally begin on Monday.
The premier will deliver a speech on the first day of conference which will be attended by heads of more than 140 countries during two weeks.
In his speech Nawaz Sharif will reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to tackle the growing challenges of climate change. He will highlight the significance of geological location of Pakistan and its efforts in combating global warming.
On the occasion the Prime Minister will assure the world leaders that Pakistan is ready to support the global efforts to reduce climate-altering carbon emission.
During his stay in Paris, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will also attend a lunch hosted by French President Francois Hollande in the honour of the heads of states and governments.
