ISLAMABAD (APP) – All the private and government educational institutes would remain closed in the federal capital on Monday on account of local government election, according to a notification issued by the interior ministry.
Besides all government departments including federal ministries located in Islamabad Capital Territory, will be closed at 2.00 p.m. on Monday to enable the employees to cast their votes.
Polling will begin at 7:00 a.m. and continue till 5:30 p.m. without any interval. There are over 676,000 registered voters. 2400 candidates are vying for the seats of chairman, vice chairman and councilors.
Meanwhile, elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure security during the elections The Election Commission has set up a control room for the Local Government Elections in Islamabad.
