LAHORE – Pakistan fast bowler Muhamamd Asif and his family sustained injuries as their car rammed into the footpath in Punjab’s capital in the early morning on Monday.
The accident took place in the city’s Defence area at around 02:45 am when their speedy car hit the footpath in a bid to save another vehicle coming from the opposite side. As of result, Muhammad Asif, his wife, and two daughters received minor head injuries.
The all injured immediately rushed to a nearby medical facility, where talking to Geo News, the pacer said that his vehicle rammed into the footpath in a bid to avoid a speeding car.
Muhammad Asif along with Salman Butt and Muhammad Amir was banned for five years by the International Cricket Council (ICC) after he was found guilty in a spot-fixing scandal exposed by a UK-based media house.
Fast bowler Muhammad Amir was able to make a comeback to international cricket after completing the ban-period.
Asif and Butt, however, have completed their ban period, were not picked by any Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise. However, they both represent WAPDA in domestic cricket.
