Pakistan’s dirtiest and cleanest cities revealed in new Gallup amp; Gilani surveys

ISLAMABAD – Karachi tops the list as the city perceived as the dirtiest of Pakistan while Islamabad the cleanest, according to a Gilani Research Foundation survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “In your opinion, which city of Pakistan is the dirtiest?”

In response to this question, 25% said Karachi, 11% said Lahore, 7% said Peshawar, 5% said Faisalabad, 4% said Shikarpur, 3% each said Quetta, Sukkur, Multan and Sahiwal, 24% referred to numerous other cities of the country, 4% said none, while 8% did not know or did not wish to respond.

According to another survey, majority of Pakistanis believe Islamabad is the cleanest city of Pakistan, followed by Lahore.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “In your opinion, which city of Pakistan is the cleanest?” In response to this question, 51% said Islamabad, 21% said Lahore, 5% said Karachi, 3% said Rawalpindi, 3% said Faisalabad, 2% said Sukkur, 2% said Peshawar, 1% each referred to Multan and Bahawalpur, 9% to all others, while 2% did not know or did not wish to respond.
