ISLAMABAD/KABUL – Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani has accepted Prime Minister Imran Khan’s invitation to visit Pakistan as both the leaders discussed the Afghan peace process and regional connectivity in a telephonic conversation on Sunday.
The invitation was extended by Khan during a phone call with Ghani in the afternoon, according to a statement from the Afghan presidency.

Khan said that Pakistan was ready to offer any help that would lead to peace and stability in Afghanistan, the statement added.
He also agreed to President Ghani’s economy-oriented and regional connectivity perspective, adding there was need for technical issues to be discussed at delegation-level talks, the TOLONews reported.
Khan urged Ghani to visit Pakistan for detailed discussions and reaching a clear understanding on economic and regional connectivity issues.
Ghani, meanwhile, appreciated Pakistani Prime Minister’s commitment for cooperation in the Afghan peace process and said the new spirit of economy-centric and regional connectivity by Pakistan is appreciable.
The president accepted Khan’s invitation to visit Pakistan, adding date of the visit would be determined through diplomatic channels.
