CARDIFF – Australia brushed aside Bangladesh by 48 runs in a latest encounter of ICC World Cup in Cardiff on Thursday.
Australia’s Aaron Finch won the toss and chose to bat first against Bangladesh and set a target of 381 runs for a loss of 5 wickets.
David Warner scored 166 runs off 147 balls with 5 sixes and 14 fours to his name; Usman Khawaja contributed 89 to the total.
On the other hand, Soumya Sarkar took three wickets.
In response, Bangladesh got bowled out on 333 runs in 50 overs; Mushfiqur Rahim scored 102 runs while Mahmudullah scored 69 runs.
Mitchell Starc, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Marcus Stoinis each sent two batsmen to the pavilion.
The top four teams from the 10-team round-robin phase qualify for the semi-finals.
