Twitter is asking Amazon founder to help get rid of Amazon rainforest fire

LAHORE – The world reacted in shock and horror after seeing photos of Brazil’s Amazon rainforest in smoke and flames.

Large-scale fires continue to spread throughout a wide swath of Amazon rainforest in the northwest of Brazil. Brazil’s space research center (INPE) said this week that the number of fires in Brazil are 80% higher than last year.

Using the hashtag #PrayForAmazonia, people around the world are trying to spread awareness about the seemingly unstoppable blaze, including a handful of celebrities.

Armeena Khan, Madonna, Yasir Hussain, and others took to social media to share their concerns over the ongoing fire.

Many people have also urged the world’s richest man, Jeff Bezos who shares his company’s name with the forest to do something about the ghastly wildfire. Jeff’s multinational tech company Amazon focusses on e-commerce and cloud computing. Interestingly, it gets its name from the Amazon River that runs through the rain forest.

The hashtag #ActForTheAmazon, which was created to ask Jeff Bezos to save the Amazon forest using his vast fortune is going viral on Twitter.
