KARACHI (Staff report) – The Nikah ceremony of Pakistani all-rounder Anwer Ali was held in Karachi on Friday.
According to media reports Barat ceremony of the national cricketer will take place on October 17 (Saturday) while Walima is scheduled on October 27.
Anwar Ali earned the all-rounder status following his superb ‘batting’ in a T20 game during Pakistan’s recent tour to Sri Lanka.
The cricketer scored 46 runs off 22 balls only to assure a dramatic win of Pakistan against Sri Lanka in second T20 match after it lost seven wickets at 107 runs while requiring another 66 runs in 6 over only.
Anwar Ali, who originally hails from Sawat valley, once used to iron socks for a living as a teenage factory worker before he found his way to fame in international cricket.
