Darren has now published over 40 books and is still going strong and his work is on sale in 39 countries. His first children’s book, Cirque du Freak attracted rave reviews and a growing army of fans and was turned into a movie starring Salma Hayek, Willem Defoe and Ken Watanabe.

According to Darren, “I’ll be reading some extracts from my books, answering questions from the audience, and then doing a book signing afterwards.
It will be fast and grisly. I love getting to see different parts of the world and meeting people with different backgrounds and beliefs. I’m looking forward to seeing more of the region and chatting with local people.”

The Sharjah International Book Fair was first launched in 1982 under the patronage of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah to manifest his vision to make the Emirate of Sharjah a beacon of culture and literature at both the Arab and global levels.

The SIBF aims to encourage everyone to read and fosters a love of books so that reading becomes a daily habit, by offering access to books in various disciplines of knowledge.
