LAHORE (Web Desk) – An anti-terrorism court in Lahore sentenced a man namely Awais to 14 years rigorous imprisonment and imposed on him a fine of Rs. 10 lakhs after clear evidence was found against him. According to reports, the convict threw acid on her relative Neelam Bibi after she refused to marry him. Police station Civil Lines arrested the convict and registered a case against him.
After the hearing in court, the sentence was announced on Friday. Tragically, what the girl has lost can never be compensated by the sentence but the punishment can be a lesson for others in the world.
We have heard the quotation below many times, but the real task is to convey it to the local public in Pakistan at large.
“If you love someone, set them free. If they come back they’re yours; if they don’t they never were.” – Richard Bach
