Earthquake-hit areas to receive rain, another tragedy for victims

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Adding to tragedy of the people of earthquake-hit areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan, heavy spell of rain is expected in parts of Malakand, Hazara, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Tuesday.

According to a statement of Meteorological Department temprature is expected to drop ever lower in the areas worst-affected by the devastating earthquake.

In parts of Gilgit-Baltistan the temperature has already been recorded below 3 degree following a three-day spell of intermittent rains and snowfall in Chilas and Chitral.

The weather has also increased the troubles for residents of the quake-affected areas of Chitral, Mansehra and the surrounding region.

Meanwhile the weather also grew harsher in the Koh Safaid tribal area of Parachinar due to snowfall and heavy rain.

Residents of the quake-affected areas spent the harsh chilly night in open areas amid cold weather following the devastation of Monday’s 7.5 magnitude earthquake, which left many houses completed destroyed or partially damaged.
