Pakistan’s video game player Atif Butt has won the “King of the Iron Fist” title after defeating South Korean opponent in the final of the Tekken World Tour 2022 videogame tournament in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on Sunday.
He beat the Korean rival Sang-hyun “Jeondding” Jeon in the final match and won $50,000 cash prize and the title.
The TEKKEN WORLD TOUR series from Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. along with production partner Reset Gaming brings an international offline tournament series where the best compete to be crowned The King of the Iron Fist. The TWT 2022 series started in June 2022 with regional tournaments in 16 regions, including Pakistan as its own region for the first time. The TWT 2022 Global Finals tournament was played at the Theatre Amsterdam on Saturday and Sunday after qualifiers at region level.
Bandai Namco Esports also announced the Butt’s victory on Twitter stating, “It’s official — the new King of the Iron Fist is Atif Butt.”
The Gujranwala-based video gamer also shared his feeling on Twitter. “Alhamdulillah for everything! I would like to thank Allah, my family, my friends, @ashesgamingpk and each and everyone of you who supports me and keeps me going! Thankyou all for your prayers! I’m out of words right now, it’s all very surreal!” he wrote.
