PCB stops Shaheen Shah Afridi from posting tweet

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday stopped former skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi from posting tweets.

The development came after the Pakistani fast bowler disowned a statement attributed to him by the PCB. Sources say that Shaheen Afridi had written a comprehensive tweet, explaining his position on the statement attributed to him by the PCB, but he was stopped from sharing that tweet.

According to the sources, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi will visit the players training camp in Kakul being run by the Pakistan Army and he will also meet Shaheen among others. During the meeting, Shaheen will take up the issue of the PCB’s statement, which was issued without taking him in the loop.

Reports also suggest that Naqvi will meet Shaheen and newly-appointed captain Babar Azam to discuss their future plan of action. Later in the evening, Naqvi will attend an iftar with the Pakistan’s national team.
