Three Month Relief For Power Consumers Using Up To 200 Units To End On Sept 30

ISLAMABAD – The federal government’s three-month relief for electricity consumers using up to 200 units will end on September 30.

Starting from October 1, the basic tariff for consumers using up to 200 units per month will increase by Rs 7.12 per unit.

The tariff for non-protected consumers using up to 100 units will rise by Rs 7.11, bringing it to Rs. 23.59 per unit, while for those using between 101 to 200 units, the tariff will increase by Rs. 7.12, reaching Rs. 30.07 per unit.

For protected consumers, the tariff for up to 100 units will increase by Rs. 3.95, making it Rs. 11.69 per unit, and for 101 to 200 units, the tariff will rise by Rs. 4.10, reaching Rs. 14.16 per unit.

For lifeline consumers using up to 50 units, the per-unit tariff will remain at Rs. 3.95, and for those using between 51 to 100 units, it will stay at Rs. 7.74.

The federal government had initially raised the basic electricity tariff by Rs. 7.12 per unit in July 2024, but provided a 3-month exemption for consumers using up to 200 units. The government halted the price hike for these consumers by offering a Rs. 50 billion subsidy for three months.
