Panthers Beat Markhors To Clinch Champions One Day Cup

FAISALABAD – Panthers on Sunday secured a commanding five-wicket victory over Markhors to clinch the Champions One-Day Cup at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad.

Earlier, Panthers delivered an impressive bowling performance, restricting Markhors to a modest total. Markhors were bowled out for just 122 runs in the 33rd over, thanks to skillful bowling from Mohammad Hasnain, Arafat Minhas, and Sajid Khan.

Fakhar Zaman attempted to build a strong opening partnership, but his partner Zain Abbas was dismissed early for just 6 runs. Fakhar top-scored with 46, while most of the other batters failed to reach double figures.

Hasnain and Arafat took three wickets each, while Sajid Khan claimed two scalps.

Shadab Khan’s team chased down the target of 123 runs in just 18 overs. Abdul Wahid Bangalzai gave Panthers a flying start with a quick 41, hitting five fours and two sixes, while his opening partner Umar Siddiq was dismissed for 19.

Sajid Khan and Usman Khan contributed 15 and 13 runs, respectively. After their dismissals, Shadab stepped in and scored an unbeaten 14 off 9 balls to secure the win for his side.
