Nadia Khan Speaks Up Against Halala Marriage Business In Pakistan

LAHORE – Pakistani actress and host Nadia Khan has once again made the headlines after her recent statement on ongoing Halala centre business in Pakistan.

Halala involves the divorced woman marrying some other man, consummating the marriage and then getting a divorce, after which she can remarry her first husband.

Nadia Khan spoke about it during a TV show while discussing a drama serial “Man Jogi” which revolves around the topic of Halala.

Nadia Khan stated that the message of “Man Jogi” is very important at this time because people have turned Halala into a business in Pakistan.

She said these Halala centers intentionally planned marriage and fix divorces so the woman can return to his first husband “lawfully”. She said such planned activities are forbidden in Islam but people have made it a joke.

Khan said she also noticed advertisement of such Halal centers on social media as she also read an advertisement from his mobile phone during the show.

Following the statement, the TV host gained support from social media users who said such practices should be stopped.
