ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Acting Governor Punjab, Rana Muhammad Iqbal, inaugurated the Multan-Faisalabad section of Motorway on Monday.
This section is part of the countrywide motorway networks being constructed by the government to bring closer the various regions and people of the country. The M-4 will ultimately link the region to greater project of Karachi-Lahore Motorway.
The project will help save fuel and time and reduce load on the N-5. It will also generate fresh economic activities on both sides of the motorway, ushering in a new era of progress and prosperity.
According to reports, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was scheduled to attend the inauguration of Multan-Faisalabad Motorway project in Gojra but due to the countrywide protests by the Christian community he was unable to make it.
The protesting Christians blocked roads in Lahore, including those leading to Raiwind.
Earlier, it was said the premier cancelled his flight to Gojra owing to bad weather conditions. Officials however said he cancelled his visit owing to the protests.
