DUBAI – India advanced into Asia Cup 2025 final, defeating Bangladesh by 41 runs in high-octane Super Four clash. Men in Blue were unstoppable as young star Abhishek Sharma blazed his way to a fiery 75 off just 37 balls, while Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah wreaked havoc with the ball to dismantle Bangladesh’s batting line-up.
Sent in to bat by Bangladesh captain Jaker Ali, India got off to a flying start. Sharma and Shubman Gill tore into the bowling from the first ball, piling up a 77-run opening partnership in just seven overs. Gill’s quickfire 29 off 19 balls set the tone, but it was Sharma who stole the show, smashing six towering sixes and six crisp fours. Even after his dramatic run-out in the 12th over, Sharma’s stormy innings had already put India in command.
After India stumbled to 129/5, a composed partnership between Hardik Pandya (38 off 29) and Axar Patel (10)* steadied the ship. Their 39-run sixth-wicket stand ensured India finished at a competitive 168/6 in 20 overs, with Pandya dismissed on the final ball.
Chasing 169, Bangladesh never found their rhythm. Opener Saif Hassan fought valiantly with 69 off 51 balls, but the rest of the batting lineup faltered. India’s bowlers were clinical:
Kuldeep Yadav picked up 3/18, bamboozling batsmen with his spin. Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy each chipped in with two wickets
Bangladesh eventually crumbled to 127 all out in 19.3 overs, unable to match India’s firepower. Apart from Saif, only Parvez Hossain Emon (21) and a few others made modest contributions. Rishad Hossain impressed with 2/27, while Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Mustafizur Rahman, and Mohammad Saifuddin claimed a wicket each, but it wasn’t enough to stem the Indian charge.
With this commanding victory, India now awaits the winner of tomorrow’s “virtual semi-final” between Pakistan and Bangladesh to determine their opponent in the Asia Cup 2025 final on Sunday. Fans can expect fireworks as India looks to add yet another trophy to their collection.
