Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi has reacted to the recent increase in petroleum prices in the country.
In a statement posted on X, Afridi said that some miscreants are sharing his old video to create the false impression that he is defending the fuel price hike.
The former captain clarified that the video was made before the recent increase and was only meant to raise awareness about energy conservation and reduced consumption, prepared at the request of the Ministry of Information.

Afridi stated that the latest rise in petroleum prices will break the backs of already burdened citizens and cannot be defended.
It is worth noting that the government has increased petrol prices by Rs137.24 per litre and diesel by Rs184.49 per litre.
