MUMBAI – Veteran Indian actor Dilip Kumar turned 94 on Sunday.
Dilip Kumar is currently admitted in a Mumbai hospital due to ill health. Millions of fans expect him to be home to celebrate his birthday, according to reports in Indian media.
Dilip Kumar has been immortalized in Indian cinema by his performances in films like Devdas, Daag, Deedar, Andaz, Mela, Mughal-e-Azam, Naya Daur, Ganga Jamuna, Aan, Amar, Ram Aur Shyam and Kohinoor.
He was born on December 11, 1922, in Peshawar, now in Pakistan.
His wife Saira Banu, a well-known actress of yesteryears, is monitoring his health.
“He is taking rest and we need your duas for him to recoup well and all should be fine by his birthday. Please pray for his quick and safe recovery,” Saira Banu said on Sunday.
