ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s single-day visit to Pishin will cost the national exchequer Rs. 6 million.
In comparison, Pakistan’s annual per capita income as of May 2016 was $1,563 (Rs. 163,000), which means that it would take the average Pakistani more than 35 years to match the cost of the Pakistani prime minister’s Pishin tour.
PM Nawaz is due to arrive in Pishin today, and sources have confirmed that eight beds have been arranged at the cost of Rs. 1.2 million, while new wallpapers and carpets have been installed at the additional cost of Rs. 1.3 million.
The cost for the visit also includes miscellaneous expenses such as welcome banners.
During the tour, the premier would be meeting tribal leaders and will also address a gathering at the rest house in Pishin.
According to DPO Pishin, security has been beefed up in the city following the visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
