Amir Khan breaks his silence, gives strong warning to parents, wife

Amir Khan has broken his silence after his wife Faryal Makhdoom accused her husband’s family of “bullying” her and trying to sabotage her marriage.

The Pakistani-origin British boxer has given a strong warning to his parents and his wife to stop accusing one another on social media and to keep family affairs private, or risk losing “a son and husband”.

Last week, model Faryal Makhdoom had accused her in-laws of subjecting her to both mental as well as physical abuse in a series of Snapchat posts.

Amir’s parents later rejected the claim and said they treated Faryal “like our own daughter”, but they admitted to rowing over the catwalk model’s clothing, believing it to be un-Islamic.

Khan’s father Sajjad, speaking from his home in Bolton, said: “All this started with the issue of dressing. We kept asking Amir to tell her not to adopt such a dress code. And even if she had to wear such dresses, please don’t post it on social media.”

In response, Faryal hit back on Snapchat with a picture of her brother-in-law, Amir’s brother Haroon Khan, sleeping on a bed naked.

Under the image, she wrote: “My dressing is an issue? Double standards? Like harry laying naked and drunk at a girls house, sisters wearing no “dupatta” I guess that’s ok bc that’s there blood & I’m just a daughter in law.”

Addressing the family drama on Twitter on Tuesday, the former world champion threatened to cut both his parents and his wife out of his life.

This was followed by Faryal apologizing for posting the nude and attributing it to a fit of rage.

She removed the image from her Snapchat story and apologized to her followers for posting the image. In her Snapchat Faryal says, “I wanted to apologize for the picture I uploaded earlier, I was a bit angry and I felt like I needed to justify myself.”

“I’ve been travelling, every single day, doing the US tour for AK Foundation charity and I was just getting so stressed out, reading the comments of people talking about my dressing”, she continued.
