CJP Saqib Nisar condemns Peshawar attack, directs to ensure security of court buildings

ISLAMABAD – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar Wednesday strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Hayatabad, Peshawar that claimed the life of a person, besides causing injuries to many people including judicial officers.

He offered his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured, a press release said.

Secretary Interior Division had been directed to ensure the security of the court buildings, judicial and law officers.

Earlier today, a person was reportedly killed and 18, including two women and civil judges injured after a suicide bomber exploded himself targeting a van of judges near Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar.

The injured included Civil Judge Asif Jadoon and three female judges who were travelling in the same van.
