More than 150 performers enthrall dance lovers at Karachi festival

KARACHI – The first of its kind Karachi Dance Festival is continuing with enthusiasm and excitement at the Arts Council of Pakistan on Saturday.

The two-day Karachi Dance Festival which started on Friday has attracted a number of individuals and families.

Around 150 performers from across Pakistan are participating in the festival, which will also include workshops and panel discussions. They include Nighat Chaudhry, Sheema Kermani and Wahab Shah.

In addition, dance groups from Chakwal, Sahiwal and Lahore are also demonstrating their talent in Karachi for the first time. Panel discussions and workshops have also been included in the programme.

Talking to media, Arts Council of Pakistan President Muhammad Ahmed Shah said that regional dance groups are taking part in this festival. “We are also going to hold some other programmes like annual theater festivals, youth festival, international Urdu conference and International culture summit,” he added.
