Two of the most outstanding names in the showbiz industry, both in India and Pakistan, Arjit Singh and Atif Aslam, have recently decided to partner for a song called ‘Musafir’ for the upcoming Sweetie Weds NRI.
Composed by the young Palash Muchhal who reached out across the border to approach talent, Atif and Arjit’s duo features a ‘heart-touching and emotional track’ which brings out the ‘dard’ in the song, quoted according to Atif in an interview with Mid-day.
When asked why he thought of choosing Arjit and Atif, Palash stated, “They are both extremely talented musicians and my favorites, too. I have grown up listening to Atif and I love Arijit’s voice. Both express pain and I needed that for Musafir.”
He also added that when the singers heard the tune, they instantly agreed to recording it.

Despite the ban on Pakistani artists in India ever since last year, Atif has managed to find his way through to Bollywood composers Sachin-Jigar for Hoor from Saba Qamar’s Bollywood debut “Hindi Medium”. While on the other hand, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan lent his voice to Azaadiyan from the Vidya Balan starrer “Begum Jaan” and Farhan Saeed offered his vocals to Thori Deyr for film “Half Girlfriend.”
