LAUSANNE (Web Desk) – Corinna, wife of Formula One (F1) legend Michael Schumacher, has reportedly sold his private jet and a holiday home. She is believed to have felt that her husband is unlikely to make use of them since his nearly fatal skiing accident in December of 2013. Schumacher is currently making slow progress from a serious brain injury.
According to German media reports, Corinna has sold the private jet for 25 million euros while the selling price of the holiday home in Norway is not yet known. It is also reported that a chalet in the French Alps may be the next to be put out for sale.
It was previously reported that Schumacher’s weekly medical bill is close to 100,000 pounds.
Although unable to speak or walk, the legendary F1 star is receiving round-the-clock medical treatment in a custom-built clinic in his mansion in Gland, Switzerland.
In addition to the medical professionals, there are several other caretakers as well. The tight security officials ensure no cameras, cellphones and recording devices are permitted inside the premises.
Schumacher is a seven-time Formula One World Champion and is widely regarded as one of the greatest Formula One drivers of all time.
In December 2013, the German racing driver suffered a serious head injury while skiing. He was airlifted to a hospital and placed in a medically induced coma, having suffered a traumatic brain injury. He was in the coma from 29 December 2013 until 16 June 2014.
He left the hospital in Grenoble for further rehabilitation at the University Hospital (CHUV) in Lausanne. On 9 September 2014, Schumacher was brought back to his home for further rehabilitation.
In November 2014, Schumacher was reported to be paralyzed and wheelchair-bound as a result of the accident.
