LAS VEGAS – South-Korean tech giant Samsung as part of its 2018 CES presence, has introduced a massive 146-inch 4K television called “The Wall”.
The Wall is world’s first modular TV for consumers and it includes a MicroLED TV that features self-emitting technology as well as a bezel-less, modular-based structure that can be customized to fit into any home environment.
This modular display TV is made of a number of screens that are joined together to create a single bigger picture. This screen can also be programmed to show the picture in different aspect ratios.
JH Han, President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, hosted the event, and explained in his opening remarks that the introduction of the company’s breakthrough display and its features is a first step to bring to life Samsung’s vision to make screens “the center of everyday life.”
In this latest TV, there is also self-emitting Micro LEDs (SMD’s) that are much smaller than current LEDs.
This Micro LED technology uses a million of tiny LEDs to create the image. MicroLED has the potential for infinite contrast, just like OLED TVs that can provide the users outstanding brightness and definite contrast.
Samsung has not yet revealed the price of The Wall.
