Facebook rolls out Messenger Kids

CALIFORNIA – Social networking giant Facebook has launched a new application for children for Android users.

The app – Messenger Kids – allows parents to control who their children talk with, access to add or delete contacts, and receive notifications if their children report or block anyone they’ve been chatting with.

Making it more user friendly, the California-based company has added kid-appropriate stickers, GIFs, frames and emojis to help them express their creativity. There are also one-to-one video calls with interactive AR masks.

Unlike the regular Messenger application, the Kids version does not ask for a phone number or need a Facebook account.

However, adults like parents or other guardians need to log in from their profiles to verify the Kids account – they can also check what is going on through the regular Messenger.

Previously, this application is available for iOS and Amazon Fire tablets users.
