London- Fareed Ayaz and his squad has taken over London with their melodious qawwali’s. They stole hearts with their live qawwali mehfil which was a perfect chance for the desi’s to dress up traditionally and enjoy the Sufi and devotional music. On Saturday night at Watford Colosseum Ayaz Fareed mesmerized the audience with his perfect high notes and team.
It is believed that qawwali is a much more open version of Islam whereas it actually are praises of God (Ishq-e-Haqeeqi) and the worldly love (Ishq-e-Majazi). Like all the qawwali mehfil she opened with Allah Hoo (praising God) , someone from the audience whistled and he stopped them from doing so explaining how this was not entertainment. He kept the mehfil interactive and lively with his comments.
Keeping up with the qawwali traditions like before him he made his audience go crazy. The sound system was not doing justice to talents of Ayaz Fareed and his squad but they still won many hearts.
