MUMBAI – Late Sridevi’s daughters Janhvi and Khushi and husband Boney Kapoor collected her Best Actress National Award at a ceremony in New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan on Thursday. Sridevi received this award posthumously for her 2017 film Mom in which a mother is seen seeking revenge for the rape of her daughter, played by Sajjal Aly.
Janhvi, an aspiring actress, wore her mother’s sari and designer Manish Malhotra described it on social media as an “emotional and precious moment.”
An emotional Boney was proud yet sensitive at the ceremony
Sridevi’s Chandni co-star Vinod Khanna, who died last year, was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award which is India’s highest film honour, and was collected by his actor son Akshaye Khanna (who co-starred with Sridevi in MOM), and his wife Kavita.
