Kabaddi Masters Dubai 2018: Pakistan to take on arch-rivals India on 22 June

DUBAI – Pakistan are all set to take on arch-rivals India in the six-nation Kabaddi Masters Dubai which is going to be played at the Al Wasl Sports Club in Dubai from 22 to 30 June.

The nine-day tournament will be held at the Al Wasl Stadium, Dubai. Republic of Korea, Iran, Argentina and Kenya are also participating in the mega event. The action will be live on Dubai Sports and Star Gold from 8:30pm to 9:30pm (PST).

Pakistan, India and newcomers Kenya are in group A, while Iran, Republic of Korea and Argentina are featured in group B. Two top teams will qualify for the semifinals.

Muhammad Sarwar, Secretary General Pakistan Kabaddi Federation, said: “A tournament of this stature does well to bring nations together.

“Kabaddi Masters Dubai 2018 will give us the chance to go up against the best teams and will go all out to gun for the trophy,” India coach Srinivas Reddy said.

“The event is our first step in that direction and will elevate the stature of our sport considerably. We are thankful to the Dubai Sports Council as well as Star India for their strong role in making this happen,” Gehlot said in a release.

This is the very first time an International kabaddi meet of such a huge scale is organised in Dubai.

Korea had beaten India in the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup opener, fuelling India’s bid for retribution this time.
